Details of the Job/Internship
KFC is looking for a candidate for the position of Legal Specialist with 6 to 8 years of experience to join their Gurugram office.
Role and Responsibilities
End 2 End - Contract Management:
- Drafting and reviewing agreements and engaging with stakeholders in negotiations to achieve mutually beneficial terms while protecting organizational interests.
- Circulate drafts for internal feedback, ensuring alignment and obtaining necessary approvals before finalization.
- Finalize agreements with signatures and securely store original contracts for easy access and maintenance of repository.
- Track key dates and milestones using an Agreement Management Information System (MIS) to ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
- Proactively manage contract renewals and address disputes efficiently, maintaining thorough documentation.
- Regularly review processes for efficiency, incorporating legal updates and best practices to enhance contract management strategies.
Litigation & Notice Management:
- Handle legal disputes and lawsuits involving franchisees, vendors, or regulatory authorities, leveraging external counsel for specialized support and expertise.
- Prepare legal communications and notices in alignment with business needs, ensuring clarity and compliance with relevant regulations.
- Develop comprehensive briefs for external counsel and proactively coordinate the gathering of evidence to strengthen the organization’s position and facilitate favorable outcomes in litigation.
- Attend court hearings and maintain regular follow-ups with external counsel to ensure timely progression and closure of cases.
- Execute engagement letters with external counsel and manage all invoicing related to legal services, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Prepare and maintain Management Information Systems (MIS) for litigation, invoicing and notices, providing detailed insights and tracking the status of ongoing legal matters for informed decision-making.
- Oversee the handling of legal notices, ensuring prompt assessment and strategic responses. Analyze implications and maintain records to mitigate risks effectively.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the organization.
- Provide legal updates to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Prepare and submit necessary filings and reports to regulatory authorities as and when required.
Research and Policy Support:
- Assist in the development and implementation of internal policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with legal standards and best practices
- Any additional tasks assigned by management within the legal or regulatory domains. Offer daily support to all departments on various legal inquiries and collaborate with the Chief Legal Officer (CLO) on all legal matters to mitigate risks to the organization.
Eligibility
- Degree in Law, LLB. Having CS degree will be an added advantage.
- 6 to 8 years of relevant working experience; A mix of law firm and in house experience is desirable.
- Strong communication and drafting skills.
- Proficiency in MS office and operating legal search engines
- Possess interpersonal skills, problem solving and briefing skills.
- Should have the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Should be a team player possessing equal amount of EQ along with IQ.
