Details of the Job/Internship

Mastek is hiring a Legal Specialist with experience of 3 to 4 years to join their office in Ahmedabad or Mumbai.

Role and Responsibilities

• Drafting and Vetting Agreements: Prepare, review, and negotiate a wide range of agreements, including Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), Letters of Intent (LOIs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs)/Invitations to Tender (ITTs), Vendor/Service Agreements, Master Services Agreements, Teaming/Partnership Agreements, Outsourcing Agreements, Software Licensing Agreements, and other commercial contracts.
• Data Protection Compliance: Review Data Protection Agreements and related documents to ensure compliance with GDPR and other relevant data protection regulations.
• Drafting Communications: Draft and review various letters such as Termination Letters, Intimation Letters, and Recovery Letters, and their responses, along with other formal communications as required.
• Negotiations: Negotiate terms of engagement and contracts with Clients, Partners, and Vendors to achieve favorable terms and protect organizational interests.
• Legal Assistance: Provide support to internal teams on legal matters, including leases, contract issues, and other legal queries.
• Litigation Management: Manage litigation and recovery matters, including reviewing case papers, appeals, and legal notices, and liaising with law firms, counsels, and consultants.

Eligibility

• Education: Law Degree (LLB or equivalent). A post-graduate degree or specialization in commercial law, data protection, or a related field is a plus.
• Experience: 3-4 years of proven experience in a legal role with a focus on commercial contracts, data protection, and litigation management.

Skills:

• Strong drafting and negotiation skills.
• In-depth understanding of GDPR and data protection laws.
• Proficient in managing and mitigating legal risks.
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle complex legal matters and work under pressure.
• Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to Ahmedabad or Mumbai.
