Details of the Job/Internship
McKinley Rice is is hiring a legal specialist to join them in Mumbai office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Policy Development: Develop and implement legal policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate various agreements, including NDAs,
- SLAs, loan agreements, RFPs and service contracts. Edit memos and negotiate third-party service provider agreements.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to RBI regulations and other applicable laws governing NBFC operations.
- Legal Advisory: Provide legal advice on business initiatives, risk management, and compliance issues.
- Litigation Management: Prevent risk of litigation. Oversee litigation matters, including civil, criminal, and consumer cases against the company; liaise with external counsel as necessary.
- Documentation: Manage documentation related to legal filings, applications, and compliance reports.
- Research & Reporting: Conduct legal research on relevant laws and regulations; track changes in legislation that may impact the business.
- Training & Awareness: Conduct training sessions for staff on legal compliance and best practices.
- Data Privacy Compliance: Ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations (e.g.,
- GDPR, CCPA).
- Others: Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including credit, product, compliance, risk management, and operations teams, to develop policies and procedures. Assist in audits and regulatory examinations, preparation of SOPs for the legal team etc.
Eligibility
- Educational Background: LLB Degree is a must. LLM preferred.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 6 years of experience, where 80% of current profile must be drafting legal documents and negotiating legal terms with vendors and partners.NBFC experience preferred.
- Working Knowledge of Companies Act 2013, Information Technology Act 2000, Indian
- Contract Act 1872, Indian Evidence Act 1872, Motor vehicle act, 1988 , Negotiable Instrument act, 1881, Consumer Protection Act 2019, Indian Penal Code 1860, Code of Criminal Procedure 1973, Code of Civil Procedure 1908, Limitation Act 1963, Arbitration & Conciliation Act 1996, Indian Contract Act 1872, Consumer Protection Act 2019, etc. Strong knowledge of Country and State Laws.
