Details of the Job/Internship
SWELECT Energy Systems Ltd is hiring a Legal Specialist to join their office in Chennai. The role involves preparing and reviewing legal documents, handling contracts, managing litigation and arbitration matters, and providing legal support across corporate, property, and intellectual property issues.
Role and Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents such as Terms of Service, Disclaimers, License Agreements, MoUs, NDAs, Patent filings, Infringement Notices, and EPC Contracts.
- Review contracts in accordance with company standards and finalize agreements as required.
- Study pre-qualification and tender documents, identifying legal and commercial issues.
- Assess contractual conditions and risks in tender documents for infrastructure projects.
- Attend arbitration tribunals and courts across India, follow up with advocates and counsels, and prepare case statements, strategies, and briefing papers.
- Handle disputes related to interpretation of contract clauses and property matters including conveyances, leases, and mortgages.
- Stay updated on legal developments and amendments affecting company operations.
- Coordinate with counsels and senior counsels for initiating and defending lawsuits.
- Manage IPR matters and safeguard the company’s patents and trademarks.
- Handle customer contracts, including drafting, negotiation, monitoring, and closure.
- Manage title opinions and fixed asset documentation, including obtaining encumbrance certificates, tax receipts, and related documents.
- Advise management on legal issues related to labour, land, registration, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain legal files and prepare monthly reports on legal matters for the Managing Director.
