Details of the Job/Internship
Wipro is hiring a Legal Specialist with at least 6 years of experience to join its office in Gurugram.
The role involves leading and supporting high volumes of commercial contract reviews and negotiations, handling KYC processes, maintaining contract documentation, and ensuring alignment of legal and commercial positions. The position requires experience in investment banking or financial services and operates on a 12:00 PM to 9:30 PM shift.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review and draft engagement letters.
- Lead contract reviews, negotiations, and finalisation for execution.
- Ensure contractual terms align with client legal and commercial positions.
- Maintain and manage a centralised repository of precedent documents and templates.
- Conduct accurate and timely KYC reviews for potential counterparties.
- Perform KYC screening using external screening tools and provide recommendations.
- Ensure quality assurance and accuracy across all deliverables.
- Oversee the implementation of quality systems and standards in projects.
- Develop SOPs, guidelines, checklists, quality manuals, and training materials.
- Engage with external counsel, client deal teams, clients, and portfolio companies on commercial and legal matters.
- Support governance, delivery, and decision-making discussions through analytical and problem-solving inputs.
- Coordinate customer-related activities, including execution of deliverables.
Eligibility
- At least 6 years of private practice and/or in-house experience in commercial contract review and negotiation.
- Mandatory experience in investment banking or financial services.
- Exposure to broker or brokerage contracts is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of commercial contracts, MSAs, SOWs, and end-to-end contract lifecycle management.
- Ability to draft and negotiate contracts to a high standard in English.
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and result-driven environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in using MS Office Suite.
