Details of the Job/Internship

Brakes India is hiring for the position of Legal Team Member with 3-8 years of experience to join their office in Chennai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and vetting key commercial contracts such as Sourcing Agreements, Supply Agreements, Export Contracts, Land Matters, Lease Agreements, Power Purchase Agreements, Service Agreements, Distribution Agreements, and Customer Contracts.
• Handling general litigations, legal notices, and claims.
• Managing regulatory matters such as Competition Laws, Legal Metrology, and BIS compliance.
• Supporting transactional activities, including conducting and reviewing Legal Due Diligence, and drafting, vetting, and negotiating term sheets, Shareholder Agreements (SHAs), Sale and Purchase Agreements (SPAs), and Purchase Agreements.
• Proficient in Company Laws and Corporate Governance, ensuring the company’s compliance and regulatory framework.
• Managing matters related to Information Technology laws, data protection regulations, and Software Licensing.
• Overseeing the company’s IPR portfolio, drafting and negotiating Technology License Agreements and Trademark License Agreements.
• Building and maintaining effective relationships with external law firms and legal practitioners.

Eligibility

Educational Qualification:

• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from a recognized institution (full-time).

Experience:

• A minimum of 3-8 years of in-house legal experience, preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, or power sector.
• Proven experience in handling commercial contracts, litigation, and M&A transactions.
• Proficiency in using digital tools and applications, with strong business acumen.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary/Stipend
