Details of the Job/Internship
Google is hiring a Legal Trainee available to start between January and March 2026 for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Amsterdam. The role is part of the regional Legal team and provides insight into diverse legal challenges related to Google products, requiring adaptability, strong organizational skills and sound legal judgment in a fast-paced international environment. The position involves working at the intersection of law and technology, supporting the development of internet law while addressing complex legal questions arising from Google’s innovative services.
Role and Responsibilities
- Respond to legal requests from users and third parties related to Google services and resolve internal escalations.
- Assist the Legal team with preparing and managing court actions and analyzing lawsuits filed against Google.
- Support various projects, including localization of new Google products, marketing assessments and reviewing or drafting agreements.
- Conduct legal research on topics such as the Right to Be Forgotten, GDPR, copyright, consumer and media regulations, and advertising.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of internal knowledge databases and use internal AI tools for assigned tasks.
Eligibility
- Master’s degree in Law from a Dutch university with civiel effect.
- Experience in data protection, copyright, consumer law, technology or media law.
- Fluent English and Dutch communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience in a law firm or a media/technology company.
- Preferred: Experience managing multiple projects in fast-paced environments and communicating across different levels.
- Preferred: Interest in technology, IT-related legal issues and recent developments.
- Available between January and March 2026 for a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Salary/Stipend
