Details of the Job/Internship
Nomura is hiring an Legal Transaction Associate with experience of 4 to 7 years to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating financial/derivative contracts and related documents of various jurisdictions including India, Asia, Japan, EMEA and US including prime brokerage agreement, master agreements (ISDA, GMRA etc.) trade documents for debt/ notes issuances, trade confirmations.
- Handling multiple negotiations simultaneously as well as responding to queries received in relation to agreements/ other legal matters.
- Liaising with various relevant business stakeholders and corporate devisions for their approval on risks/deviations.
- Being able to identify and highlight risks and liaising with and instructing law firms.
- Providing commercially savvy legal advice on a variety of matters basis the in-depth research and study of the applicable law provisions.
- Being abreast with the changing laws and regulations.
- Advising on the queries received from the business and legal teams related to agreements.
- Liaising with stakeholders, regional lawyers and buisness partners in various locations of the firm.
Eligibility
Mandatory Skill Set:
- Qualified law graduate with at least LLB degree.
- 4-7 years demonstrated experience in contracts drafting and negotiations.
- Excellent communication, drafting, negotiating skills with a good understanding of financial/ derivative contracts and related documents.
- Excellent analytical and legal skills, an eye for detail.
- Good team player.
- Maturity in dealing with senior stakeholders.
- Well organized in data and record management.
- Excellent analytical, skills and detail oriented.
- Excellent command over the english language and first rate written and communication & presentation skills.
- Resourcefulness, solution oriented and good team player.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks as well as prioritize time management.
Desired Skill Set:
- Knowledge and understanding of various Indian laws.
- Ability to identify issues and knowing when to escalate.
- Self starter with a sense of ownership towards the work and the company.
- Critical thinking, Conflict Management.
