Details of the Job/Internship
Toorey is hiring a Legal Writer to work under direct attorney supervision in Hyderabad. The role involves drafting and reviewing persuasive immigration filings, conducting research, and supporting high-volume employment-based immigration cases.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, proofread, and fact-check petition letters, expert reference letters, legal arguments, and RFE/NOID responses.
- Review and select supporting evidence, including research publications, patents, awards, and media coverage.
- Develop case strategies for attorney review for L-1, O-1, EB-1, and NIW petitions.
- Conduct legal and policy research on immigration regulations and case law.
- Translate technical and professional achievements into clear, compelling narratives for immigration adjudicators.
- Manage high-volume caseloads and ensure compliance with deadlines and SLAs.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and account managers to manage workflows and address evidence gaps.
- Respond to client inquiries and escalate complex issues to attorneys as needed.
- Assist in drafting legal updates, client advisories, and website articles on immigration developments.
- Stay informed on USCIS policy updates and adjudication trends to ensure best practices.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communications, English, or related field; LLB/advanced degree is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in U.S. employment-based immigration law, with at least 1 year focused on L-1, O-1, EB-1, and NIW petitions.
- Strong knowledge of L-1, O-1, EB-1, NIW criteria and employment-based immigration processes.
- Exceptional legal writing, research, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with attention to detail.
