Seward and Kissel LLP is hiring Legal Writer to join their office in New York.
Role and Responsibilities
- Bios and Profiles: Craft compelling and informative attorney bios, highlighting their qualifications, experience, and accomplishments.
- External Communications: Develop and edit content for the firm's website, newsletters, blogs, and social media platforms to ensure consistency in messaging and brand image.
- Practice Group Descriptions: Create concise and engaging descriptions of our practice areas, showcasing our expertise and capabilities.
- Press Releases: Write and distribute press releases to announce significant firm achievements, new hires, awards, and other noteworthy events.
- Pitch and Proposal Drafting: Collaborate with attorneys and business development teams to prepare persuasive pitches and proposals that effectively communicate the firm's strengths and capabilities to prospective clients.
- Content Strategy: Contribute to the development of a comprehensive content strategy to maintain a consistent and engaging online presence.
- Legal Research: Conduct legal research to support content creation, ensuring accuracy and relevance of legal information.
- Proofreading and Editing: Review and edit content for accuracy, grammar, and adherence to brand guidelines.
Eligibility
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Journalism, or a related field. A JD or legal background is a significant plus.
- Proven experience in legal writing, with a strong portfolio showcasing the ability to write bios, practice group descriptions, press releases, and marketing content.
- Excellent command of the English language and superior writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of legal terminology, concepts, and industry trends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
- Creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex legal information into clear, engaging content.
- Marketing experience, including knowledge of SEO and digital marketing strategies, is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys, marketing teams, and other stakeholders.
