Details of the Job/Internship

Devyani International Limited (DIL) is hiring for the position of Litigation Associate with 3-5 years of experience to join their office in Gurugram.

Role and Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all litigation matters involving the company, including civil, criminal, consumer, labour, and commercial disputes.
• Liaise with external legal counsel, law firms, and internal departments for seamless coordination and case preparation.
• Ensure timely preparation and filing of written statements, affidavits, replies, and other pleadings before various courts, tribunals, and forums.
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Litigation MIS, court calendars, and case tracking systems.
• Draft legal notices, responses, summaries, and internal case briefs as required.
• Collaborate with internal departments such as Operations, HR, and Finance to gather facts, documents, and evidence necessary for legal proceedings.
• Represent the company at court hearings, arbitration proceedings, and mediations when required.
• Ensure strict compliance with regulatory and legal obligations related to ongoing litigation.
• Provide regular legal updates and risk assessments to management regarding key litigation matters and developments.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualification:
• LLB from a recognized institution (LLM or Company Secretary qualification is a plus).
• Experience:
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in managing litigation matters.
• Prior exposure to the retail, QSR, FMCG, or similar sectors is preferred.
• Skills & Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of civil, criminal, labour, and consumer laws.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with legal tracking tools and software.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
