Details of the Job/Internship

Metalegal Advocates is hiring for the position of Litigation Associate with 5-6 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Role and Responsibilities

• Represent clients before trial courts, High Courts, NCLT/NCLAT, ITAT, and other regulatory/tribunal forums.
• Draft, review, and finalize pleadings, petitions, affidavits, applications, and written submissions.
• Provide strategic advice and legal opinions on taxation disputes, white-collar investigations/prosecutions, and IBC proceedings.
• Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of 3–4 junior advocates, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in research, drafting, and preparation.
• Coordinate with external counsel and law firms, as required.
• Maintain close communication with clients, ensuring timely updates on case strategy, progress, and hearings.
• Ensure compliance with all procedural requirements, statutory timelines, and regulatory obligations.

Eligibility

• Education: LLB from a reputed law school/university.
• Experience: 5–6 years PQE in litigation, with significant exposure to tax disputes, white-collar crime litigation, and insolvency proceedings (IBC).
• Strong advocacy skills with proven ability to argue matters independently before courts and tribunals.
• Excellent drafting, research, and analytical capabilities.
• Experience in mentoring and managing junior advocates.
• Proficiency in English (spoken and written); fluency in Hindi/Marathi preferred.
• Strong client-handling skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and priorities under pressure.
• Thorough knowledge of procedural and substantive Indian law in the relevant practice areas.
