Canford Law is hiring a Litigation Executive with a minimum of 2+ years’ experience to join their office in the United Kingdom. The role involves managing a personal caseload of Credit Hire, RTA, and litigation matters from pre-litigation through trial, while guiding clients towards successful outcomes through negotiation or court proceedings.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage a personal caseload of Credit Hire, RTA, and litigation matters with a high degree of autonomy.
- Conduct pre-litigation preparation, issue court proceedings, and progress cases through to trial where required.
- Provide clear guidance and regular updates to clients throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Gather and review evidence, prepare witness statements, draft pleadings, and manage disclosure processes and schedules.
- Negotiate settlements and manage instructions to counsel where appropriate.
- Use the firm’s case management system to record activities, monitor deadlines, and ensure timely file progression.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with relevant practice rules, regulatory requirements, and firm procedures.
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to achieve positive case outcomes and deliver high-quality client care.
- Identify issues and propose practical, cost-effective solutions for clients and the firm.
Eligibility
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience handling Credit Hire, RTA, and litigation matters.
- Proven ability to independently manage a caseload from pre-litigation to trial.
- Excellent client care skills with a professional and empathetic approach.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills, including diary and deadline management.
- Proficiency in case management systems and standard office software.
- Paralegal qualification, CILEX membership, or other legal qualification or training.
- Experience in litigation budgeting, costs reporting, or liaising with counsel preferred.
- Demonstrable track record of achieving successful case outcomes, including settlements and contested hearings.
Salary/Stipend
