Details of the Job/Internship
S&A Law Offices ("S&A") is hiring for the position of Litigation Associate – Power & Energy with 5+ years of experience to join their offices in Delhi and Gurugram.
Role and Responsibilities
- Representation & Advocacy: Appear and argue before regulatory commissions and appellate tribunals including DERC, CERC, and APTEL; effectively present oral arguments, examine witnesses, and advocate clients’ positions in court and tribunal proceedings.
- Regulatory Litigation Management: End-to-end handling of litigation related to the power and energy sector—drafting, filing, and defending all types of pleadings including writs, complaints, petitions, affidavits, appeals, counterclaims, rejoinders, and applications.
- Legal Research & Strategy: Conduct thorough legal research on energy laws, regulations, and precedents; prepare strategic legal opinions and advise clients on litigation risk, legal exposure, and best course of action.
- Client Relationship Management: Maintain consistent and clear communication with clients regarding case progress, potential outcomes, legal strategy, and risk assessment; address their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, senior counsels, paralegals, and clients to ensure smooth coordination and effective litigation management.
- Mentorship & Supervision: Lead and mentor junior associates, offering guidance and constructive feedback to support their professional growth and ensure high-quality legal output.
- Business Development Support: Collaborate with the business development team to identify and pursue new client opportunities and contribute to the growth of the firm’s litigation practice.
- Legal Writing & Knowledge Contribution: Draft and contribute thought leadership content including articles, legal updates, alerts, and case insights relevant to the energy sector and litigation trends.
- Case Lifecycle Ownership: Manage the entire lifecycle of litigation—from document discovery and claim calculation to drafting demand notices, pleadings, evidence preparation, and final arguments—individually or as part of a team.
Eligibility
- Experience: 5+ Years.
- Qualification: B.A. LL.B / LL.B, AIBE Qualified, and Registered with the Bar Council of India.
Salary/Stipend
