Details of the Job/Internship

SBI General Insurance is hiring for the position of MACT & Litigations Manager to join their office in Chennai.

Role and Responsibilities

MACT Case Management:

• Handle all legal aspects of Motor Accident Claims Tribunal (MACT) cases, including case analysis, preparation, and representation.
• Review and assess MACT claims to determine the appropriate legal strategy and course of action.

Litigation Management:

• Develop and implement strategies for managing ongoing litigation, ensuring timely resolution of cases.
• Maintain accurate case records and documentation to support legal proceedings.

Legal Document Preparation:

• Draft and review legal documents, notices, replies, and settlement agreements.
• Ensure all legal documents are compliant with company policies and regulatory guidelines.

Settlement Negotiations:

• Engage in negotiations with claimants and legal representatives to reach settlements.
• Evaluate claims and recommend settlement strategies to mitigate legal risks.

Liaison with Panel Advocates:

• Coordinate with panel advocates for effective representation in legal matters.
• Maintain regular communication to track case progress and provide necessary legal inputs.

Eligibility

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
• Experience: Proven experience in MACT case handling and litigation management, preferably within the insurance sector.
• Skills and Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of Motor Vehicle Act, insurance laws, and legal documentation.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to effectively liaise with advocates and other legal representatives.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
