The company plays a critical role in the financial ecosystem by purchasing bad loans from banks and financial institutions to drive recovery through strategic restructuring or legal enforcement.
Details of the Job/Internship
CFM Asset Reconstruction Pvt Ltd is hiring a Manager – Legal with a strong background in stressed assets to join their office in Chennai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and file written statements, rejoinders, and pleadings before the DRT, DRAT, and other authorities.
- Liaise with advocates and financial institutions on matters involving the SARFAESI Act, IBC, and RDBA.
- Track litigation progress, maintain case status reports, and prepare cause lists for management review.
- Evaluate and conduct due diligence on stressed asset portfolios proposed for acquisition.
- Identify legal risks in financial data packs and provide critical inputs for bid submissions.
- Review title documents, loan agreements, and documentation for assignment and acquisition contracts.
- Support enforcement actions, including possession, auction procedures, and settlement documentation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to drive recovery strategies, including restructuring and legal enforcement.
Eligibility
- LLB degree from a recognized university (LLM is preferred but not mandatory).
- Prior experience with ARCs, Banks, or NBFCs handling stressed assets is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of SARFAESI, IBC framework, and debt recovery laws.
- Exposure to transaction documentation for NPA acquisitions is an added advantage.
- Excellent drafting and professional communication skills in English.
- Mandatory: Proficiency in Tamil is required for the Chennai location.
- Detail-oriented and capable of working independently with proactive stakeholder management.
