Details of the Job/Internship
Tata AIA Life Insurance is hiring a Manager (Legal) with experience of more than 6 years to join their office in Hyderabad.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage consumer litigation cases filed against the company across District, State, and National Commissions.
- Handle Insurance Ombudsman cases, attending hearings and taking necessary steps for the closure of awards.
- Draft and vet written statements, evidence, and other necessary pleadings for court submissions.
- Coordinate with external advocates to ensure replies and appeals are filed within statutory timelines.
- Review court orders and recommend further legal actions such as appeals, reviews, or settlements.
- Assess pre-litigation grievances related to claim repudiation and policy servicing to reduce potential litigation.
- Review and vet Leave and License Agreements and handle property-related due diligence and IPR issues.
- Provide legal advice to internal teams on disputed cases and high-risk or sensitive claims.
- Maintain litigation trackers, case summaries, and accurate legal records for MIS reporting.
- Analyze FIRs, post-mortem reports, and hospital records to determine company liability in claims cases.
Eligibility
- Qualification: LLB from a reputed law college.
- Experience: More than 6 years of experience, preferably from the Life Insurance industry.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Insurance and Contract laws, Consumer Protection Act 2019, CPC, and Evidence law.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze medical and police records (FIR, PM Reports) to assess legal liability.
- Behavioral Skills: Strong analytical thinking, effective communication, and the ability to work under strict deadlines.
- Adaptability: High levels of flexibility to manage long hours and multiple tasks simultaneously.
