upGrad is hiring a Manager/ AM - Legal Compliance & Litigation with 4-6 years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru. 

Role and Responsibilities

Compliance & Risk Management

• Assist in ensuring business compliance with applicable laws and internal policies.
• Conduct legal audits and due diligence exercises.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks.

Policy & Documentation

• Draft, review, and revise company policies—both internal and consumer-facing.
• Prepare legal notices, representations, and responses to statutory authorities.
• Provide legal opinions and guidance on regulatory matters.

Labour & Employment Support

• Address labour-related issues and support the HR team in implementing employment policies and practices in compliance with applicable labour laws.

Litigation Management

• Liaise with external advocates and counsels on all litigation matters, including consumer disputes.
• Draft and review pleadings, monitor case progress, and ensure timely legal action as needed.

Strategic Legal Support

• Proactively identify potential legal issues and contribute to the development of strategic business initiatives.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders by providing timely and practical legal advice.

Intellectual Property Management

• Build and manage the company’s IP portfolio by filing trademark applications, pursuing oppositions, and issuing cease & desist/takedown notices against infringement.

Eligibility

• LL.B. / LL.M. from a recognized and reputable institution.
• 4–6 years of post-qualification legal experience.
• Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written).
• Proficient in MS Office tools, especially Word and Excel.
• Strong legal drafting, research, and analytical abilities.
• Ability to manage priorities and work effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Preferred background in Education, Internet, E-Commerce, Media, FMCG, or a service-oriented industry.

Salary/Stipend
