Details of the Job/Internship
The organisation is hiring a Manager – Corporate Compliance (Data Privacy) with 6–9 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Design and continuously improve the enterprise data privacy program in alignment with GDPR, CCPA, and PDPA.
- Maintain the organization’s privacy governance framework, including all policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct and maintain the Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and ensure accurate data processing inventories.
- Lead Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs) and Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) for new projects and third-party engagements.
- Administer and optimize privacy management platforms, specifically OneTrust, for consent management and data mapping.
- Manage the end-to-end process for Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) across various jurisdictions.
- Assist in data breach response activities, including triaging incidents and notifying regulators within statutory timelines.
- Conduct privacy due diligence on vendors and negotiate Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).
- Prepare compliance reports and dashboards for senior leadership and board-level committees.
- Champion privacy-by-design principles throughout the product development lifecycle.
Eligibility
- 6–9 years of hands-on experience in data privacy or information governance.
- Deep knowledge of GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and global privacy frameworks.
- Proven expertise with OneTrust or comparable privacy management platforms.
- Essential Certification: CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM, or CIPT (IAPP).
- Preferred Qualification: LLB or equivalent law degree.
- Experience advising C-suite and technology stakeholders on privacy risk.
- Ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable business guidance.
- Track record of managing cross-border data transfer mechanisms.
