Details of the Job/Internship

Zepto is hiring a Manager – Intellectual Property Rights in Bengaluru with 3-5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in the legal domain.

Role and Responsibilities

• Trademark Management:
  • Maintain trademark portfolio and renewals
  • Conduct trademark availability searches
  • File and defend trademark applications
  • Monitor third-party filings and initiate oppositions
• Copyright Management:
  • Advise internal teams on copyright usage
  • Manage company copyright filings and documentation
  • Enforce copyright rights through notices and legal action
• Brand Protection & Anti-Counterfeiting:
  • Monitor marketplaces for IP infringements
  • Develop brand protection strategies
  • Execute takedowns and coordinate with law enforcement
• Patent Program:
  • Identify and manage inventions for patent filings
  • Handle patent prosecution and infringement action
• Takedown Notice Management:
  • Draft takedown notices for online platforms
  • Ensure compliance with e-commerce IP policies
• Training & Compliance:
  • Conduct IP awareness sessions
  • Guide teams to ensure product and marketing compliance
• Coordination:
  • Work with external counsel across jurisdictions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across legal, R&D, marketing
• Licensing & Monetization:
  • Assist in drafting licensing, co-branding, and commercialization contracts
• Monitoring & Reporting:
  • Maintain IP database
  • Track deadlines and provide portfolio status updates

Eligibility

• LL.B. degree (mandatory)
• 3–5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) in IPR-related roles
• Strong knowledge of Indian and international IP laws
• Experience with trademark, copyright, and patent filings and enforcement
• Prior in-house or law firm experience in handling IP portfolios preferred
