Details of the Job/Internship

Hoora is hiring a Manager Legal & Grievance with a minimum of 7 years of experience to lead a specialized internal function in Nagpur. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Grievance Resolution: Build and lead an end-to-end mechanism focused on mediation and pre-litigation settlements.
• Team Leadership: Recruit and train a dedicated team to handle grievances across B2C, D2C, and Insurance verticals.
• SOP Development: Define and implement Standard Operating Procedures for logging, investigating, and resolving complaints rapidly.
• Criminal Law Application: Use expertise in Criminal Law and Cybercrime to investigate and resolve high-risk issues related to partner conduct and operational safety.
• Risk Mitigation: Advise on proactive vetting and background verification protocols for field staff and vendors to prevent fraud.
• Expansion Advisory: Provide legal consultation on regulatory risks during the launch of new business verticals.
• Operational Strategy: Design scalable grievance systems modeled after major hyper-local players (like Zomato or Urban Company).
• Policy Influence: Translate recurring grievance patterns into actionable policy changes for the leadership team.

Eligibility

• Mandatory Education: Must possess both an LLB and an LLM degree.
• Mandatory Specialization: Demonstrated expertise in Criminal Law and Cyber Crime.
• Experience: 7+ years in legal practice, compliance, or grievance management, preferably in high-volume customer-facing businesses.
• Domain Knowledge: A clear understanding of the operational risks typical of hyper-local, logistics, or on-demand service platforms.
• Resolution Focus: A proven track record in successful mediation and achieving pre-litigation settlements.
• Leadership: Ability to autonomously build a new strategic function within a technology-driven startup.
