Details of the Job/Internship

Pazago is hiring for the position of Manager - Legal and Compliance with 7+ years of experience to join their office in Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Contract Management: Draft, review, and negotiate NDAs, commercial contracts, and other legal documents to align with company goals and ensure legal integrity.

Regulatory Compliance:

• Monitor and ensure compliance with international trade laws, including export controls (e.g., EAR, ITAR).
• Oversee compliance with SEBI, RBI, MCA, and other applicable domestic regulations.
• Address compliance requirements for shipping, freight documentation, and cross-border transactions.
• Dispute Resolution: Manage legal disputes, regulatory notices, and client claims. Represent the company in legal proceedings, arbitration, and settlement negotiations.

Data Privacy & Fintech Compliance:

• Ensure legal compliance in areas such as data security, user privacy, and digital transactions, especially concerning the fintech aspects of the platform.
• Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and due diligence for internal operations and third-party engagements.

Regulatory Monitoring & Advisory:

• Stay updated on global legal and regulatory developments in trade, intellectual property, and cross-border data exchange.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal risks and implications of regulatory changes.

Reporting & Governance:

• Prepare regular compliance and legal status reports for leadership.
• Liaise with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies when required.

Eligibility

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B.) is mandatory; advanced qualifications (LL.M., CCEP, CIPM) are a plus.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant legal and compliance experience, ideally in software, fintech, or export-focused industries.
• In-depth knowledge of international trade compliance, customs laws, SEBI, RBI, and corporate governance regulations.
• Excellent skills in legal drafting, negotiation, stakeholder communication, and risk management.
• Prior experience handling regulatory interactions and legal audits is highly desirable.
