Details of the Job/Internship

Haleon is hiring an experienced Manager – Legal Counsel (Contracts) to bridge hands-on delivery with strategic oversight.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate high-complexity commercial agreements, including SaaS, marketing, clinical, and supply/distribution contracts.
• Provide SME guidance on non-standard clauses such as indemnities, liability regimes, and data privacy terms.
• Ensure all global contracts adhere to internal policies, delegation of authority, and records retention controls.
• Partner with Compliance, Privacy, and Finance teams to strengthen risk management and continuous improvement frameworks.
• Lead the adoption of legal technology, including CLM workflows and document automation, to design scalable SOPs.
• Track and report on key performance metrics such as SLAs, cycle times, and quality of throughput.
• Mentor and coach junior lawyers and non-lawyer specialists, potentially leading small project squads or pods.
• Translate complex legal positions into executive-ready recommendations for regional and global stakeholders.

Eligibility

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) or equivalent.
• Professional Experience: Ideally up to 10 years of post-qualification experience in in-house shared services or global law firms.
• Technical Expertise: Advanced contract drafting across multiple categories and proficiency in legal tech (CLM, e-signatures).
• Domain Knowledge: Working knowledge of GDPR/DPDP, IP licensing, competition law, and third-party risk fundamentals.
• Leadership: Demonstrated track record of mentoring or leading small teams (formal or informal).
• Traits: Ability to thrive in a high-scale, matrixed environment with a focus on pragmatic, risk-based solutions.
