Details of the Job/Internship

Jio Institute is hiring for the position of Manager - Legal & Regulatory with 4 years of experience to join their office in Navi Mumbai. 

Role and Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to all statutory and regulatory requirements relevant to the institution, including university-specific laws in Maharashtra.

Contracts & Agreements:

• Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs), contracts, and agreements with academic institutions, regulatory bodies, corporate partners, and other stakeholders.

Research & Grants Documentation:

• Oversee legal documentation related to research grants, funding arrangements, and partnerships.

Intellectual Property (IP):

• Work in collaboration with internal and external IP counsel to develop IP policies, draft and review licensing and privacy agreements.

Engagement Documentation:

• Prepare and manage contracts for visiting faculty, consultants, advisors, and other external collaborators.

Standard Legal Templates:

• Develop and maintain general terms and conditions for institutional agreements to ensure consistency and legal compliance.

Employment Law:

• Provide legal guidance on employee matters, including employment contracts, compliance with labor laws, and resolution of HR legal issues.

Litigation & Legal Proceedings:

• Manage litigation, arbitration, and other legal disputes involving the institution.

Liaison with Regulatory Bodies:

• Interface with UGC, AICTE, State Government, and other regulatory authorities; manage filings, licensing, and compliance-related correspondence.

Institutional Legal Matters:

• Provide counsel on corporate and institutional legal issues as needed.

Eligibility

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B) from a reputed institution; additional qualifications such as LL.M will be an advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 4 years of legal experience, preferably in a corporate or institutional setup.
• Prior experience working with higher education institutions or NGOs in Maharashtra is highly desirable.

Salary/Stipend

Compensation details will be finalized during the interview process with the selected candidate.
