Details of the Job/Internship
CapitaLand Group (CapitaLand) is hiring for the position of Manager - Legal with 10+ years of experience to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
Contract Drafting and Negotiation:
- Draft, review, and negotiate lease agreements, sale deeds, vendor contracts, financing agreements, and other commercial contracts.
- Ensure that all agreements comply with applicable laws and mitigate potential legal risks.
Litigation and Dispute Resolution:
- Manage legal notices, disputes, and litigation involving real estate transactions and contractual matters.
- Liaise with external counsel to strategize and resolve disputes effectively.
Regulatory Compliance and Government Liaison:
- Ensure timely acquisition of government approvals and regulatory clearances.
- Maintain compliance with local real estate laws, zoning regulations, and other applicable regulations.
Transaction Management and Due Diligence:
- Support land acquisition, leasing, and project financing processes through comprehensive due diligence.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external advisors for seamless transaction execution.
Risk Management and Mitigation:
- Identify potential legal risks in business operations and propose effective mitigation strategies.
- Develop and implement legal policies and SOPs to safeguard the organization’s interests.
Corporate Structuring and M&A:
- Assist in corporate restructuring, mergers, demergers, and other business consolidation activities.
- Advise on general corporate laws, stamp duty matters, and documentation requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate legal records, contract repositories, and due diligence reports.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on ongoing legal matters and potential risks.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB).
- 10+ years of experience in the commercial real estate sector, with a focus on property transactions and leasing.
- Strong understanding of local real estate laws, government procedures, and regulatory frameworks.
- Proven experience in drafting and negotiating complex legal agreements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Prior experience in a reputable law firm is highly preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a results-oriented mindset.
Salary/Stipend
