Details of the Job/Internship
Group Bayport is hiring for the position of Manager or Senior Legal Manager with experience of 7-10 years to join their Ahmedabad office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for Legal Compliance for Group Bayport (All Indian and Foreign Entities).
- Vetting of contracts entered by any Group Bayport entity.
- Vetting of any legal submission to statutory authorities by any Group Bayport entity.
- Liaison and meeting with government officers of different statutory authority, if required.
- Reviewing, following up, and ensuring timely compliance (including filling out various statutory forms).
- Preparing MOM for various meetings.
- Reporting of compliance dashboard and other matters to the management every month as part of Legal MIS.
- Experience working with cross-border transactions.
- Act as the primary legal advisor and SPOC for all legal matters, ensuring compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
- Oversee and manage legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&As), including due diligence, contract negotiation, and integration processes.
- Review and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal requirements and best practices.
- Provide strategic legal guidance on intellectual property (IP) matters, including protection, enforcement, and licensing of IP rights.
- Develop and implement legal strategies to minimize risk and support business objectives.
- Collaborate with external legal counsel as needed for specialized matters.
- Lead negotiations and drafting of key contracts, agreements, and legal documents.
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and industry trends to proactively manage potential risks and opportunities.
- Advise the CEO and senior management team on the legal implications of business decisions and strategies.
- Conduct training sessions for employees on legal matters, including compliance, ethics, and risk management.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing external legal counsel.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and guide senior stakeholders.
- Proactive and results-driven approach, with a focus on achieving business objectives.
Eligibility
- Law graduate from a National Law University (NLU) or a recognized equivalent.
- 7-10 years of experience in a legal role, with experience in a corporate environment.
- Extensive experience in handling mergers and acquisitions (M&As), policy reviews, and intellectual property (IP) protection.
- Strong understanding of corporate law, contract law, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic legal advice to senior management.
