Details of the Job/Internship

IDFC FIRST Bank is hiring for the position of Manager-Retail Banking Legal with 5 years of experience to join them in Mumbai office. 

Role and Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice and support to the retail banking business of IDFC FIRST Bank.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies related to retail banking operations.
• Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with third-party vendors and service providers.
• Conduct legal research and analysis to identify potential risks and provide recommendations to mitigate them.
• Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure legal and regulatory compliance in all retail banking activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address legal and compliance issues in a timely manner.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations related to retail banking and communicate updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct training sessions for employees on legal and compliance matters related to retail banking.
• Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure timely and cost-effective legal support for the retail banking business.
• Prepare and submit reports to senior management on legal and compliance issues and their resolution.

Eligibility

• Bachelor's degree in Law from a recognized university.
• Post-graduate degree in Law or a related field will be preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in legal and compliance roles in the banking industry.
• Sound knowledge of retail banking laws and regulations in India.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong negotiation and drafting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in MS Office and legal research tools.
• Knowledge of local languages will be an added advantage.
