Details of the Job/Internship
Oxford University Press is hiring a Manager – Rights & IP to join its Noida office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage contracts from pre-execution to archival and retrieval.
- Ensure cost-effective and copyright-compliant sourcing of third-party assets (images, text, video, audio).
- Oversee licensing activities, including negotiations, contract execution, and revenue allocation.
- Provide pre- and post-contract support, including tracking expiries and renewals.
- Collaborate with Group Legal on complex IP issues and mitigate legal risks.
- Conduct IP research and manage third-party permissions, renewals, and compliance.
- Supervise interns working on metadata and rights management systems.
- Support audits and ensure accuracy in rights sales and royalty payment data.
- Assist finance with sublicensing and revenue share calculations.
- Validate rights status for deals and conduct IP training sessions.
Eligibility
- Strong understanding of copyright law and rights/permissions best practices.
- Familiarity with legal terminology and IP management systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-cultural collaboration.
- High attention to detail and professionalism in handling confidential data.
- (Desirable) Experience in training delivery or system demonstrations related to contracts and IP.
