Details of the Job/Internship
Protium is hiring a Mortgage Legal – Chief Manager with 7–10 years of experience to join their office in Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review title search reports and provide legal opinions on property acceptability as security.
- Approve or reject legal deviations.
- Scrutinise title documents and advise business and credit teams on mortgage loans.
- Coordinate and negotiate with credit and sales teams to resolve bottlenecks.
- Prepare affidavits, declarations, and indemnities as per legal or credit requirements.
- Review and vet mortgage deeds and MODTs.
- Meet advocates to stay updated on local legal developments and improve title report quality within approved timelines.
- Collaborate with local teams to update property matrices and suggest changes to collateral policies or processes.
- Visit branches periodically to provide functional training on policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Conduct legal audits for branches as required.
- Maintain MIS and reminders for legal conditions and compliance.
Eligibility
- 7–10 years of experience in the NBFC sector.
- Ability to manage a regional team.
- Must have experience with business loan products.
