Details of the Job/Internship
Ambit is hiring for the position of Paralegal Assistant to join their office in Ahmedabad office.
Role and Responsibilities
- Legal Research: Conduct research on statutes, case law, legal articles, and other relevant materials to support ongoing cases.
- Document Drafting: Prepare legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, discovery responses, and correspondence.
- File Management: Organize and maintain case files, evidence, and exhibits. Ensure all necessary documentation is filed with the court or relevant agencies.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients to gather information, schedule meetings, and provide updates on case progress.
- Court Preparation: Assist with trial preparation, including the preparation of exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.
- Case Management: Assist with case timelines, deadlines, and tracking filings to ensure that all legal requirements are met on time.
- Legal Assistance: Assist attorneys with other tasks as necessary, such as preparing for depositions or attending court hearings.
Eligibility
- Education: A bachelor’s degree is typically required. A paralegal certification would be an added advantage.
- Experience: Previous experience in a legal setting is required.
- Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in legal research and using legal databases
- Knowledge of office software (Microsoft Office, Google Suite)
- Familiarity with legal terminology and procedures
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
