Details of the Job/Internship
Bates Wells is looking for a candidate for the position of Paralegal to join them at their office in London.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct legal research and summarise legal documents.
- Provide support on transactional work in both debt and equity finance.
- Review and monitor relevant regulatory updates.
- Undertake general company secretarial tasks and record attendance in meetings.
- Draft legal documents, client correspondence, legal forms, and letters of advice.
- Attend client board meetings and produce meeting minutes.
- Participate in team meetings, sector groups, and contribute to firm legal precedents and know-how.
- Support our Education practice and contribute to knowledge and business development.
- Display effective time management and be proactive in your career development.
Eligibility
- A graduate with paralegal experience and/or a Law Degree, or equivalent legal qualification.
- A postgraduate legal qualification such as the Legal Practice Course (LPC) is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build and maintain strong client relationships with a client-centric approach.
- Team player with a collaborative spirit, yet able to work independently when needed.
- Technically excellent, commercially minded, and passionate about the work we do.
