Details of the Job/Internship

The Law Offices of Mary Kennedy, LLC is hiring a Paralegal to work remotely from India during U.S. hours (8:30 PM – 4:30 AM IST). The role involves assisting with U.S. immigration casework, client communication, legal document drafting, and case management. The position includes direct interaction with senior leadership, training, mentorship, and an opportunity for U.S. visa sponsorship and relocation to the Chicago-area office after one year.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist with immigration case preparation and documentation.
• Communicate professionally with clients from diverse backgrounds.
• Maintain case records using technology and case-management software.
• Draft, proofread, and format legal documents with high accuracy.
• Support attorneys with research, organisation, and administrative tasks.
• Collaborate with team members and adapt to evolving processes.
• Use AI tools responsibly in support of legal work.

Eligibility

• Master’s degree in Law (LL.M., Master of Law, or related field from India).
• Willingness to work U.S. hours during the first year.
• Willingness to relocate to the United States after one year, with visa fully sponsored.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong reading comprehension and writing abilities (B2–C1 CEFR level).
• Professional email etiquette and ability to interact with international clients.
• Ability to draft time-sensitive, technical documents accurately.
• Proficiency with technology, productivity tools, and responsible use of AI.
• Ability to work independently and within a structured team.
• Clean background check.
• Preferred: experience in immigration law, legal research, case management, or familiarity with U.S. immigration forms.

Salary/Stipend
