Details of the Job/Internship
Mammoet India is hiring an In-House Paralegal with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join their legal team in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. The role involves assisting in-house legal counsels in managing legal documentation, record keeping, and ensuring compliance with corporate governance.
Role and Responsibilities
- Review and file legal documents including board resolutions and key corporate documents.
- Assist legal counsel with board meetings, shareholder meetings, and other corporate events.
- Maintain and organize legal files, ensuring documents are updated and accessible.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and external parties on legal matters.
- Manage and coordinate schedules, appointments, and deadlines for the legal team.
- Perform administrative tasks such as filing, copying, and scanning.
- Stay updated on changes in corporate secretarial frameworks across Middle East and Asia Pacific jurisdictions.
- Provide corporate secretarial support including preparation of agendas, minutes, and resolutions with notarisation, apostille, and embassy attestations as required.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements and maintain statutory records.
- Coordinate with auditors, regulators, liquidators, and shareholders.
- Support the legal team in managing corporate transactions, mergers, acquisitions, and strategic initiatives.
Eligibility
- Qualified in Paralegal Studies, Corporate Secretarial, or a related field.
- Paralegal certification from an accredited institution preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in an in-house legal department or corporate environment.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology, procedures, and documentation.
- Excellent research, drafting, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Experience in corporate secretarial functions and corporate governance.
- Familiarity with corporate law and regulatory compliance in a multinational context.
