Details of the Job/Internship
Sands China is hiring a Paralegal with experience of 4 years to join their office in Hong Kong.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drafting, finalizing, and issuing leasing contracts, advertising agreements and other agreements for shopping malls.
- Drafting correspondence, lease clauses, and negotiation responses for legal counsel’s review and issuing them once approved.
- Working with the leasing team to actively follow up with retailers to progress matters and handle the execution of contracts and payment of deposits under the lease agreement.
- Liaising with various teams within the Company to ensure proper administration of leasing contracts.
- Preparing breach and termination notices and litigation briefs on matters where retailers defaulted.
- Maintaining a comprehensive record of all CORRESPONDENCE and documentation sent and received and ensuring files and reports are current and well-maintained.
- Providing general administrative assistance to legal counsel.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Eligibility
- Degree or diploma graduate in Legal discipline.
- Have at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Experienced in preparation, review, drafting, negotiation, and execution of any type of agreement. Exposure to tenancy agreements/retail leases is an advantage.
- Preferably with good knowledge of retail leasing matters, gained whilst acting on large portfolios of retail properties for both landlords and tenants.
- Be working on retail leasing matters reporting to the team’s legal counsel and working autonomously whenever appropriate.
- Being able to demonstrate experience in lease negotiations as well as general legal drafting is desirable.
- Be able to handle high-volume leasing work.
- Team player and ability to work independently.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English and Chinese.
- Time-line conscious and self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure.
