Details of the Job/Internship
Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP is hiring a Paralegal to join their London office. The role involves supporting the Funds Regulatory team with regulatory filings, multi-jurisdictional licensing and marketing surveys, M&A due diligence, and general administrative tasks, along with broader paralegal responsibilities.
Role and Responsibilities
- Assist with drafting fund marketing registrations and notifications and coordinate related filings.
- Liaise with local counsel on fund marketing filings and multi-jurisdictional surveys.
- Support due diligence reviews and regulatory change of control filings in M&A transactions.
- Communicate with clients, participate in calls, and coordinate discussions on regulatory matters.
- Maintain workstream trackers, knowledge and precedent banks, and handle ad-hoc client requests.
- Monitor emails, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
- Review and proofread documents, check defined terms and cross-references, and conduct research using subscription services such as PLC, Westlaw, and LexisNexis.
- Maintain closing checklists, conform execution versions, prepare closing bibles, and perform general administrative duties.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or equivalent.
- Previous paralegal experience in a professional services environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe PDF, Filesite, and iManage.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with partners, clients, and staff at all levels.
- Motivated self-starter with strong teamwork and initiative.
- Flexibility to work overtime at short notice when required.
Salary/Stipend
