Founded in 2010, Terviva is a food and ag innovation company partnering with communities and farmers to harvest and grow Pongamia, also known as Karanja. Pongamia is a climate-resilient tree which produces abundant, protein- and oil-rich legumes.
Details of the Job/Internship
Terviva is looking for a candidate for the position of Paralegal.
Role and Responsibilities
- Supporting the global legal team on all legal matters
- Maintaining detailed calendars, agendas for meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and prioritising meeting requests, including preparation and maintenance of minutes, and summary sheets.
- Providing legal spend management support, including proactively managing legal billing for the legal department, and expense management, including liaising with the F&A and admin team for all legal department travel arrangements (domestic and international)
- Providing support to the Associate General Counsel and Associate Counsel in effectively managing Terviva's intellectual property portfolio.
- Facilitating co-ordination with external counsels and advisors for corporate compliance and secretarial matters
- Maintain detailed, organised, accurate and up-to-date contract files, updating and maintenance of playbooks and standard templates, and documentation and tracking contract lifecycle events, deadlines and renewals dates in the contract lifecycle management software.
- Undertake research of existing laws- local, state, and federal laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Working alongside internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with global policies, including organising of seminar, educational sessions etc for employees and consultants of Terviva.
Eligibility
- Master's or bachelor's in law from a recognized university; postgraduate degree is a plus
- Certificate of Practice
- Company Secretary (ICSI) certification is a plus
- 2-4+ years of relevant paralegal experience with exposure to manufacturing, technology and other commercial transactions, contract dispute resolution, legal team and contract process management.
- Prior in-house experience preferred, with specific experience dealing with multi-jurisdictional companies.
- Demonstrates a strong understanding of and possesses knowledge of technology trends, and technology's role in the legal profession and its application in areas such as contract review, due diligence, legal research, and collaborative work.
