Details of the Job/Internship

Indian Institute of Patent and Trademark is hiring a Patent Agent with a minimum of 1 year of experience in patent drafting and filing.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft and file patent applications (provisional and complete specifications) in India and abroad.
• Conduct prior art searches, patentability assessments, and freedom-to-operate (FTO) analyses.
• Respond to First Examination Reports (FERs) and assist in prosecution activities.
• Maintain accurate records of all IP filings and deadlines.

Eligibility

• Registered Indian Patent Agent (mandatory).
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Pharma, or related technical fields.
• Minimum 1 year of hands-on experience in patent filing and prosecution.
• Strong understanding of Indian and international patent laws (PCT, USPTO, EPO).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently under deadlines.
