Details of the Job/Internship

Excelon IP is hiring a Patent Associate with 1–5 years of experience to join their office in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

Role and Responsibilities

• Draft high-quality provisional and complete patent specifications for Indian and international jurisdictions (PCT, USPTO, EPO).
• Create robust, layered claim structures from complex engineering concepts to ensure legal durability.
• Perform prior art searches, patentability assessments, and Freedom-to-Operate (FTO) analyses.
• Map technology landscapes and identify innovation whitespaces using tech-driven IP tools.
• Draft persuasive responses to First Examination Reports (FER) and represent clients in hearings before the Controller of Patents.
• Manage the prosecution lifecycle for a diverse portfolio of domestic and foreign applications.
• Provide technical-legal support for patent infringement litigation, oppositions, and revocation proceedings.
• Analyze technical evidence to construct non-infringement or invalidity arguments.

Eligibility

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science, or Electrical engineering.
• Must be a Registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent Office.
• 1–5 years of proven experience in an IP firm or an in-house IP cell.
• Exceptional command of English for writing precise and unambiguous technical-legal documents.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to quickly grasp new and emerging technologies.
