Details of the Job/Internship
NAIR IP LLP is hiring a Patent Associate with experience of 1–5 years to join their office in Andheri East, Mumbai.
Role and Responsibilities
- Drafting, preparing, and prosecuting patent applications, including provisional, complete, and PCT national phase entries.
- Conducting patentability searches, prior art analysis, and freedom-to-operate assessments.
- Responding to examination reports, office actions, and hearings before the Indian Patent Office.
- Assisting in patent portfolio management and advising clients on IP strategy.
- Coordinating with foreign associates for international filings and oppositions.
- Collaborating with attorneys, clients, and technical experts.
Eligibility
- Must be a registered Indian Patent Agent qualified under the Indian Patent Act.
- Degree in Science or Engineering, preferably B.Tech, B.E., M.Sc., or higher in relevant technical fields such as Electronics, Mechanical, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or Computer Science.
- Strong technical aptitude and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with mandatory fluency in English.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Prior experience in patent drafting or prosecution is desirable but not essential for strong candidates.
