Details of the Job/Internship
Saint-Gobain Research India is hiring a Patent Associate to join their office in SGRI, Chennai. The candidate will work with the business and the R&D team to cater to the needs of patent information and help in optimizing the worldwide patent portfolio and strategy. This includes identifying patentable inventions; securing high-quality & strategic patent assets; providing expert technical and legal analysis; and working with R&D and business to provide internal and third-party patent information. This position is further envisioned to provide support for enforcement activities in India.
Role and Responsibilities
- Preparing IP opinions (patentability, FTO, invalidity)
- Providing insightful analysis of search results from various sources
- Keep an eye on technology, competition, and geography through patent watches and disseminating the insights from patent watches to R&D and Business
- Assisting in patent oppositions and providing technical support to the enforcement activities through research and analysis of recent cases etc.
- In-depth knowledge in search and analytics in a KPO/Inhouse/Law firm set up handling a large patent data sets spanning between 2-6 years.
Strong mastery over patent search databases and analytical tools
Excellent command over the English language (written & verbal)
Eligibility
Bachelor/Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production Engineering, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering from premier academic institutions.
