Details of the Job/Internship
Nokia is hiring a Patent Filing & Prosecution Specialist with experience in patent administration to join their office in Bengaluru
Role and Responsibilities
- Support practitioners in filing and prosecuting Indian National, provisional, and PCT patent applications.
- Request Foreign Filing licenses and permits from the Indian Patent Office for inventions by local inventors.
- Manage essential formalities, including Power of Attorneys and collecting wet signatures from inventors.
- Prepare and process patent-related documents, forms, and official correspondences such as office action responses.
- Execute patent filings via electronic systems and manage the payment of required official fees.
- Create and maintain accurate records and docketing data within the Nokia patent database.
- Proactively manage the patent prosecution docket to ensure all statutory deadlines are met.
- Coordinate the archiving of physical documents and communication with local agents in different countries.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law or Management; a paralegal certificate is preferred.
- Functional knowledge of patent prosecution rules and procedures, specifically in docketing practice.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both spoken and written.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a strong ability to manage strict deadlines.
- Professionalism and the ability to work independently with high self-discipline.
- Nice-to-Have: Prior experience in filing and prosecuting applications at the Indian Patent Office.
- Nice-to-Have: Experience working across multiple time zones and multicultural environments.
