Details of the Job/Internship
Nokia is hiring a Patent Filing & Prosecution Specialist to join their team in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Support practitioners in filing and prosecuting Indian National, provisional, and PCT patent applications.
- Manage the request for Foreign Filing Licenses (FFL) for inventions by Indian inventors intended for foreign jurisdictions.
- Oversee all required formalities, including Power of Attorneys and collecting wet signatures from inventors for assignments.
- Prepare official correspondence, such as responses to office actions and working statements (Form 27) for the Indian Patent Office.
- Execute electronic filings and manage the payment system for official patent fees.
- Create and maintain accurate records and docketing within the Nokia patent database to ensure no deadlines are missed.
- Coordinate with archives in Finland and local agents in various countries for document management.
- Proactively manage the prosecution docket, ensuring adherence to strict statutory timelines.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (Legal) or Management; a paralegal certificate is highly preferred.
- Basic knowledge of patent prosecution rules and procedures, specifically docketing practices.
- Exceptional attention to detail and professional self-discipline.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multicultural team across multiple time zones.
- Nice-To-Have: Direct experience in filing and prosecuting National or PCT applications at the Indian Patent Office.
- Nice-To-Have: Experience in a private practice or an in-house IP team.
