Details of the Job/Internship
Brainiac IP Solutions is hiring a Patent Paralegal Officer with over 6 months to 1 year of experience to join their on-site team in Pune.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end filing processes for Patents and Design applications, including:
- Provisional, Complete, Divisional, Conventional, and PCT National Phase applications.
- Design applications and related responses to FERs from the Design Office.
- Prepare and file required statutory forms and documents, including:
- Forms 1, 3, 5, 18, 18A, 25, 26, 27 (Working Statement), etc.
- Draft and submit:
- FER responses, hearing submissions, and renewal requests.
- PCT applications, submission of DAS codes, GPOAs with WIPO.
- Requests for NBA approvals.
- Manage docketing systems for both patents and designs, ensuring accurate tracking of:
- Deadlines (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Communications from IPO, WIPO, and other patent offices (e.g., ISR, publication notices).
- Coordinate international patent filings, including:
- Preparing country-specific forms.
- Obtaining foreign filing cost estimates and updating internal tracking sheets.
- Liaise with clients for approvals on renewals, working statements, and deadline-sensitive matters.
- Conduct internal cross-checks to avoid duplication, and review all filings for accuracy and completeness.
- Engage directly with clients in the absence of primary contact, especially for urgent filings or approaching deadlines.
Eligibility
- Strong understanding of Patent Law and Patent Prosecution procedures.
- Proficiency in legal documentation, filings, and form preparation.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Intellectual Property Law, Legal Studies, or a related field preferred.
