Details of the Job/Internship
Brainiac IP Solutions is hiring for the position of Compliance Officer (Patent Paralegal) with 6 months- 1 year to join their office in Pune.
Role and Responsibilities
- Manage the filing process for patents and design applications.
- Oversee all patent- and design-related activities.
- Maintain and monitor deadlines within the patent and design docketing system.
- Handle the filing of various patent types including provisional, complete, divisional, conventional, and PCT national phase applications.
- File responses to FERs (First Examination Reports), attend hearings, and manage renewals.
- Submit design-related responses and applications, including responses to FERs issued by the Design Office.
- Prepare and file a range of forms including Form 1, 3, 5, 18 (RFE), 18A, 25 (FFL), 26, and 27 (working statements).
- Manage the preparation and filing of PCT applications and submission of DAS codes, GPOA with WIPO.
- File DAS codes, certified copies, and assignments with the IPO.
- Coordinate patent filings in foreign jurisdictions and prepare relevant documentation.
- Track all patent-related deadlines on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- File NBA approval requests and report notices from WIPO or other patent offices.
- Monitor client patent portfolios, obtain approvals for renewals and working statements.
- Review documents thoroughly before filing and ensure no overlap in activities.
- Obtain and track quotations from foreign associates and maintain records.
- Prepare FER and hearing responses for design applications.
- Review received design documents and liaise with clients for necessary clarifications.
- Communicate directly with clients in urgent matters, especially in the absence of relevant team members.
Eligibility
- Sound knowledge of Patent Law, patent preparation, and application procedures.
- Experience in legal document preparation and patent prosecution.
- Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks accurately.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and other basic software tools.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Paralegal Studies or Intellectual Property Law.
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience is required.
