Law Firm of Naren Thappeta (Iphorizons PLLC) is an established and successful law firm specializing in Drafting and filing Patent applications in the Technology space in Software, Hardware, and IT, representing clients in the India Patent Office(IPO) and United States Patent Office (USPTO).
Details of the Job/Internship
Iphorizons, Law Firm of Naren Thappeta is hiring a Patent Paralegal with experience of 0 to 2 years to join their office in Bengaluru.
Role and Responsibilities
- Collaborating with patent attorneys, patent agents, subject matter experts(SMEs), IPO, USPTO, foreign associates and staff.
- Extract relevant information from the IPO & USPTO databases and correspondence.
- Maintain and review Dockets.
- Maintain IP records and review them to be up to date.
- Monitor the filing status of the patent.
- Prepare and file legal documents with IPO & USPTO, mostly electronic.
- Tracking due dates via docketing systems and matter management and coordinating with attorneys and staff to meet all identified due dates.
- Communicating with attorneys and clients regarding upcoming deadlines.
- Reviewing incoming correspondence from patent offices and foreign counsel, updating deadlines, and following up as necessary.
- Overseeing the execution and legalization of documents for submission in intellectual property matters.
- Proactively preparing client reporting and prosecution documents.
- Opening new matters for tracking purposes.
- Other project management tasks as required from time to time.
Eligibility
- A bachelor's or Masters degree in Law with a specialization in Intellectual Property law.
- 0-2 years of work experience.
- Proficiency in legal terminology and electronic databases.
- Exceptional ability to keep track of records and deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- An ability to prioritize and multi-task to complete projects effectively and efficiently.
- Exceptional team player and also work independently.
- Good written and oral communication skills in sustaining close working relationships with attorneys, colleagues and clients (domestic and international).
- Ability to work on tight deadlines.
- Outstanding attention to detail.
- A drive to learn new material.
- Flexible, adaptable and efficient work practices.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint is needed.
