Details of the Job/Internship

Happy Gut Kitchen is offering an unpaid internship for a Patent Research Intern for 3 months.

Role and Responsibilities

• Conduct prior art searches using patent databases (Google Patents, WIPO, USPTO, Espacenet, etc.).
• Analyse existing patents to identify novelty, overlaps, and gaps.
• Support patentability assessments for new ideas, processes, and systems.
• Prepare patent research reports with summaries, claim-level insights, and novelty notes.
• Assist in documentation of ideas and invention disclosures.
• Track IP trends relevant to food, wellness, healthcare, and technology.
• Coordinate with founders, product, and research teams for clarifications and inputs.

Eligibility

• Law, Engineering, Science, or Management student or recent graduate.
• Interest in patents, IP law, innovation, or R&D strategy.
• Strong research, analytical, and technical comprehension skills.
• Ability to structure findings clearly in documents or presentations.
• Self-driven and comfortable working in ambiguous, evolving contexts.
• Prior patent research experience is a plus but not mandatory.
