Details of the Job/Internship

eBay Inc. is hiring a Payments & Financial Services Counsel with 7–10 years of experience to join its Financial Services Legal team in Bengaluru.

Role and Responsibilities

• Advising on the design, development, and rollout of new payment products and business models.
• Ensuring compliance with global payments, fintech, licensing, AML/CTF, consumer protection, and card network rules.
• Supporting regulatory compliance across regions including the EU, Australia, and APAC.
• Developing policies, procedures, and user-facing and commercial agreements.
• Drafting and negotiating agreements with payments partners and service providers.
• Translating complex regulations into actionable guidance for business and engineering teams.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Compliance, Risk, Finance, Tax, Privacy, and Internal Audit.
• Advising on regulatory developments affecting fintech and e-commerce industries.
• Managing multiple high-priority projects under tight deadlines.
• Supporting expansion into new countries by advising on payment infrastructure and licensing requirements.

Eligibility

• Law degree from a reputable university.
• 7–10 years of legal experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or related sectors.
• Experience advising on global payments regulations, money transmission laws, and card network rules.
• Strong experience providing regulatory advice to business and engineering teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.
• Strong business acumen, communication, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Ability to balance legal and business risk.
