Details of the Job/Internship
D-Vivid Consultant is hiring a Payroll & Compliance Officer to join them in Gujarat office.
Role and Responsibilities
- TDS Deduction & Compliance:
- Oversee and ensure timely TDS deductions as per applicable laws (Income Tax Act).
- Prepare and file monthly TDS returns (e-TDS) and ensure accuracy in all submissions.
- Issue TDS certificates (Form 16/16A) to employees and vendors as required.
- Stay updated on changes in TDS regulations and ensure compliance with any updates or amendments.
- Payroll Management:
- Process monthly payroll, ensuring all calculations for salaries, deductions, bonuses, and reimbursements are accurate.
- Ensure statutory deductions such as PF, ESI, TDS, and others are processed as per law.
- Coordinate with the accounts team to reconcile payroll data and ensure salaries are paid accurately and on time.
- Professional Tax (PT) Compliance:
- Handle the deduction, remittance, and filing of Professional Tax (PT) in compliance with relevant state laws.
- Ensure accurate PT records are maintained for all employees and ensure timely remittance to government authorities.
- Prepare and file Professional Tax returns as per state-specific requirements.
- Statutory Compliance & Reporting:
- Keep track of all statutory filings and compliance requirements related to payroll, TDS, and professional tax.
- Prepare and file statutory reports (e.g., Form 24Q, Form 26Q, PT returns) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Liaise with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities for compliance audits and reporting.
- Record Keeping & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of payroll, tax deductions, and statutory filings.
- Ensure that all documentation adheres to compliance standards and is ready for audits or government inspections.
- Employee Support & Communication:
- Provide employees with timely support and assistance regarding payroll-related queries, TDS, and professional tax.
- Communicate payroll-related changes or updates to employees, ensuring clarity and transparency.
Eligibility
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, HR, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in payroll, TDS deductions, and statutory compliance.
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws, TDS provisions, and statutory payroll regulations.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and payroll/accounting software such as Tally or HRMS.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive financial data.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex issues clearly.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
