Details of the Job/Internship
Policy & Development Advisory Group (PDAG) is seeking a Research & Policy Associate for a time-bound international policy research assignment under a multilateral engagement, with a substantive focus on international mobility and cross-border labour and skills pathways.
Role and Responsibilities
- Conduct targeted desk research using global in-site search engines, official databases, and institutional portals to track policy developments, sectoral trends, and key stakeholders.
- Identify, verify, and triangulate information from credible national and international sources.
- Review, code, and analyse qualitative and quantitative secondary data to support analytical sections of project outputs.
- Organise data into tables, comparison matrices, and summaries for internal and external use.
- Support the preparation of analytical notes, briefing documents, presentations, and draft report sections for senior specialists.
- Translate complex information into clear, structured, fact-based writing, suitable for international audiences.
- Maintain well-organised research logs, source lists, and datasets.
- Track ongoing international discussions, policy updates, and institutional developments relevant to the assignment.
Eligibility
- 1–3 years of professional experience in desk research, data analysis, policy support, or consulting, preferably in an international or multilateral context.
- Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Economics, International Relations, Public Policy, Social Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Strong analytical orientation with the ability to identify patterns, draw connections, and interpret data beyond surface-level findings.
- Excellent written English with the ability to draft concise, accurate, and neutral analytical text for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proactive, self-driven, and able to manage multiple workstreams under tight timelines in a fast-paced research environment.
