Details of the Job/Internship

Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys is hiring a Principal Associate in their Commercial Litigation team for their Hyderabad office.

Role and Responsibilities

• Assist in commercial litigation, arbitration, real estate, and related advisory work.
• Draft legal notices, replies, pleadings, rejoinders, appeals, writs, SLPs, written submissions, and written arguments.
• Conduct legal research and prepare first drafts with analytical inputs.
• Communicate with clients when required.
• Work with Associate Partners/Partners in drafting and preparing litigation documents.
• Appear before courts and tribunals and file documents as required.
• Visit courts, authorities, and client offices when necessary.

Eligibility

• Three-year or five-year law degree from a reputed university with an excellent academic record.
• 5–7 years of post-qualification experience in commercial litigation, real estate, or arbitration.
• Additional experience in general corporate advisory (securities/exchange control) and IPR disputes is preferred.
• Experience handling heavy or mid-level litigation involving commercial contractual disputes, domestic and international arbitration, and general civil and criminal litigation.
• Experience in drafting legal notices, replies, pleadings, rejoinders, appeals, writs, SLPs, written submissions, and written arguments before various forums.
• Working knowledge of general commercial laws, court and tribunal procedures, arbitrations, IBC, Limitation Act, CPC, Company Law, and the Constitution.
• Strong command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to analyse issues, conduct research, and prepare first drafts with value additions.
• Ability to communicate with clients directly when required.
• Ability to work under the guidance of senior leadership and prepare documents/pleadings and appear before courts.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current commercial laws.
• Ability to file documents, pleadings, and argue before different forums.
• Willingness to visit courts, statutory/regulatory authorities, and client offices when required.
• Good team player with excellent communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability and understanding of practical application of laws.
• Tech-savvy and proficient in using computers, social media, and e-commerce mechanisms.
• Experience in writing articles on relevant disputes or subject areas.
• High level of integrity, honesty, and work ethics.
